Abstract

This study illuminates the challenges faced by the Trans Dresses (Hijra) community in Pakistan. It delves into the community’s daily challenges, offering a fresh perspective on their experiences beyond the typical narrative of poverty. The study brings insight through the lens of social and cultural anthropology. The data was collected using ethnographic research methods, such as participant observation and in-depth interviews, in the vicinity of the Bari Imam Islamabad, Pakistan. Ultimately, this study significantly contributes towards understanding the Eunuchs/Trans Dresses (Hijra) community from a social and gender perspective.
